Marketplaces

Marketplaces sit between genuine participants and a lot of automation. Volance helps you tell them apart with evidence, and keeps the enforcement decision yours.

The problem

Marketplaces deal with scraped inventory and pricing, fake or duplicate listings, multi-accounting, and automated messaging — often mixed in with completely legitimate buyers and sellers. A single global blocklist is too coarse, and account-linking alone struggles when offenders churn accounts.

How Volance helps

Score sessions on on-site signals where you choose, from a listing page to a messaging flow, and apply granular policy on your server. Because Volance keeps no cross-site identifiers and does not fingerprint by default, it fits marketplaces that also have to answer privacy questions.

What you see

  • Per-session scores for listings, search, and messaging routes.
  • The human / agent / bot split, so a trusted crawler is not treated like a scraper.
  • Named evidence per session for reviews and appeal handling.

Volance scores a session on human-likeness and returns the evidence. It is not a CAPTCHA and does not prove a human is present; enforcement stays on your server.

Frequently asked

Does Volance track users across other sites?

No. Collection is on-site only, with no cross-site identifiers and IP addresses hashed in product records. Raw scores are purged after 30 days.

Can legitimate crawlers be allowed?

Yes. Verified agents and known automation can be allowed by policy so search and partner crawlers are not caught by mistake.
